New Ascender platform with Next-Gen Mountain body panels: The Ascender platform brings a whole new way to attack the mountain. Running boards are 1 in. narrower than previous designs and the overall profile is 10% narrower for improved side-hill performance, improved venting and ease of laying the sled over in deep snow. The revised bellypan shape allows the rider’s feet to move 2 inches further forward for even greater ergonomic options for riding. The drive shaft dropped 1.125 inches allows for a 9.7º lowered approach angle providing more maneuverability and the ability to get up and stay up on the snow. Improved fit and finish with easy on/off one-piece body panels allow easy access to the engine compartment and brings a distinctive Arctic Cat styling. 8000 C-TEC2 Engine with DSI: Introducing the most efficient and responsive 8000 engine from Arctic Cat. Fresh from our plant in St. Cloud, Minnesota, this 2-stroke engine features noticeably faster throttle response and acceleration compared with our previous 800, plus up to 30% reduction in oil consumption below 7000 rpm, 36% increase in low-end torque and 18% increase in midrange torque. FOX FLOAT® 3 air shock rear suspension reduces snow buildup weight while providing a full range of pressure/tuning options. Arctic Race Front Suspension The Hill Climb Racer suspension is designed to muscle you up the steepest chutes. FOX FLOAT® 3 EVOL shocks optimize handling on the mountain. 8000 2-Stroke Engine 160-class HP makes it the most powerful 800 engine in the industry. It features a lightweight, quick-revving crankshaft, twin spark plugs per cylinder and weight-saving engine reverse technology. The engine knock sensor provides octane recognition, giving you more fuel options. ProClimb™ Chassis We need it to be as light as possible without sacrificing strength. The upper spar assembly design is the answer, proving itself on the scales and on the mountain. Shock mounts transfer energy directly to the spar assembly, the strongest point of the chassis. Rider position is ideal. Push-Button Engine Reverse The push-button reverse is all about quick, easy activation. This feature reverses the direction of the engine rotation. In addition to being smooth it's also a weight savings. Deluxe Digital/Analog Gauge w/Altimeter Choose between digital and analog speed and tachometer readouts. And check out the altimeter to see just how high up you are. There's also an odometer, two trip meters, engine hour meter, reverse indicator and warning lights. Lightweight Vertical Steering The lightweight vertical steering provides weight savings and gives you the stable feeling of a fixed post. Swap out the standard 5.5-in. riser block for a different height to create the perfect fit for your riding style. Tether Switch The tether stop switch will stop your sled if you ever get separated from your machine while riding. Lightweight Mountain Seat Our new seat is lower and shorter. Now it's easier to hop from one side of your sled to the other as you carve your way through the backcountry. Front-Mounted Heat Exchanger The heat exchanger on our HCR gives these sleds a huge advantage. The shorter design reduces snow and ice buildup in the tunnel. What’s more, we’ve shaved 4 lbs. off the weight of the previous heat exchanger. Drilled Lightweight Disk Brake This rotor is 12% larger, yet 60% lighter. You get great performance in all types of conditions, and ultimately, it gives you more confidence in the backcountry. Ice Scratchers As a part of the heat-exchange system, these
